Gifts for the New Year

New Year’s Gifts: The Most Exciting Part Starts Long Before the Clock Strikes Midnight

Sometime in mid-December, a special mode kicks in. Names start appearing in your notes app. The first hidden boxes appear in the closet. And one morning, on your way to work, you catch yourself imagining the face of someone important to you as they unwrap your gift very soon. And the more original the gift, the harder it is to wait until December 31 to give it to them.

We guarantee you’ll find exactly that kind of gift at ORNER. This page features more than 1,000 unusual New Year’s gifts across 50+ different categories. Calendars, board games, blankets, Tarot cards, laptop sleeves… and plenty more. So you can find something for Mom, a colleague, or your godfather whom you give socks to every year (you’re allowed to do it again this time, too — but only if they have capybaras on them).

And the best part is that it’s all Made in Ukraine. The designs are ours, too. Modern and always on point, with memes, cats, and a distinctly Ukrainian touch.

New Year’s Gifts in the ORNER Catalog

You’re looking for a gift that someone will unwrap while there are still a few slow evenings ahead and the coming year feels like a blank page. So one of two things usually works best:

1. Something they can unwrap and start using right away.
2. Something that will stay with them throughout the year, reminding them of you every day.

We have both.

Board Games, Puzzles and Playing Cards

January 1. Everyone’s home. Time for entertainment and yet another serving of Olivier salad. That’s why these make great New Year’s gifts:

• Board games. Some will get your friends to tell stories you’ve never heard before, while others can make even the people who swore they wouldn’t play “these games of yours” laugh until they cry.
• Puzzles. Is there an easier way to bring the whole family together? And is there a better activity for getting some alone time away from the family?
• A deck of playing cards. Easy to toss into a backpack whenever you’re heading over to someone’s place.

Paint-by-Number Kits, Diamond Paintings and Embroidery Kits

These are two New Year’s gifts in one: first, the recipient gets a relaxing hobby for a few winter evenings, and then they end up with a painting they made themselves. The kits already contain everything needed, and it’s easy to choose a design based on the recipient’s personality or interests.

Tarot Cards

Right before the New Year, everyone wants to sneak at least a little peek into the future. So even people who don’t believe in horoscopes end up Googling them. A deck of Tarot cards is a way to get the spoilers before everyone else. And the accompanying guide will help even a complete beginner figure things out.

Wine Glasses, Mugs and Plates

Tableware definitely won’t sit unused. Mugs have a habit of breaking. Or disappearing at the office — until you spot yours on a colleague’s desk. So another mug as a New Year’s gift is never a bad idea. Especially if it’s an ironic one, with a message that says what you think about Monday mornings for you. A glass with a funny inscription can make any evening better. And, of course, cool plates are perfect for piling up mandarins.

Calendars

Now for New Year’s gifts that will stay with someone throughout the year. A calendar is practically the only gift in our selection with a shelf life of exactly one year. You can get one as a gift for yourself. Or buy a set right away, so there’s enough for everyone.

Planners, Journals and Vision Board Kits

Every January, half the country decides to start a new life. A planner can help that idea last longer than the following Monday. With a gratitude journal, all it takes is a few lines in the evening to realize that even gloomy February has its bright days. And a vision board kit can help turn New Year’s dreams into conscious plans you can hang somewhere visible.

New Year’s Gifts by Budget

When your list has a dozen people on it but only one salary, it’s easier to start with a specific budget. Here’s what you can find in each price range:

• Up to UAH 200. Socks. With cats, dogs, capybaras. And even with places, cities, and regions of Ukraine!
• Up to UAH 500. Wine glasses, mugs, puzzles, photo albums, notebooks, and skincare products — perfect for colleagues.
• Up to UAH 1,000. Memory Books, party games, metaphorical cards, and cooking journals — for the people who have made it onto your phone’s “Favorites” list.
• From UAH 1,000. This price range has options for those pooling money with a group for New Year’s gifts or looking to create a real wow effect. Here you’ll find blankets, calendar sets, and gift sets in general.

How to Order a New Year’s Gift with Delivery

The instructions are simple:

• Choose a product.
• Click “Buy.”
• Add a few more if needed (and remember: delivery is free for orders over UAH 3,000).
• Proceed to checkout: enter your contact details, city, delivery method, and payment method.

You can track your order status on the website. Want to organize a real surprise? We can send the gift directly to the recipient, while all receipts will be sent to you. We can even add a greeting.

You can pay by card, upon delivery, or use an installment plan, which can be a real lifesaver in December. Our packaging is beautiful by default — they’re gifts, after all! But you can also add a gift bag if you’d like. And if the recipient has a cat, that’s basically a must: the gift is for the person, the bag is for the cat.

And remember: you can decorate the Christmas tree on the 30th. Make the Olivier salad on the 31st. But it’s better to buy your New Year’s gifts now, while the best items haven’t already disappeared into someone else’s cart!
